On Tuesday December 8, 2015 at 2:00 a.m. Police responded to the parking lot of Tim Hortons, 795 Ottawa Street South in the City of Kitchener to investigate the suspicious activity of a male driving a white sport utility. As police arrived and began speaking with the male, he reversed the vehicle and struck a Waterloo Regional Police officer before fleeing the scene. The officer suffered minor injuries. The vehicle was later located on Stoneybrook Drive in Kitchener. With the assistance of Guelph Police Canine Unit, the male was located on Juniper Court where he was arrested. The male is facing numerous driving related charges and was held for a showcause hearing.
