Type: Traffic Stop – Arrest
Incident: 15-42601
Location: Mary Street
Details: On December 14, 2015 at approximately 1:30 p.m. an officer while on routine patrol observed a vehicle stop at a stop sign on Mary Street and Park Avenue. The vehicle proceeded to turn in front of the cruiser without yielding the right of way. The officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver was unable to provide proof of valid insurance and advised that she did not have her driver’s licence with her. Investigation revealed that her driver’s licence was in fact suspended. The driver was also on two forms of recognizance, one as a result of a charge of impaired driving, with conditions not to continue driving.
The accused, a 26 year old Ohsweken woman is charged with the following;
Fail to Yield to Traffic – HTA
Drive while under suspension – HTA
Failing to have insurance card – CAIA (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
Breach of Recognizance (2x) – CCC
The accused was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Type: Robbery
Incident: 42630-15
Location: Shallow Creek Park – East Ave
Details: On December 15, 2015 shortly before 5:00 p.m. a 24 year old Brantford man was walking through Shallow Creek Park when he was approached by an unknown man (suspect #1)asking for a cigarette. The victim while responding to the man was approached from behind by a second unknown man. The second man (suspect #2) had a knife in his hand and demanded the victim’s backpack. The victim was not physically injured and left the park. Police were contacted approximately a half hour later and the suspects were not observed at the scene. The stolen backpack contained an IPhone, identification, cash, and some prescription medication.
Suspect #1 is described as a native male, 5’7, scruffy looking, dark jeans and wearing white runners
Suspect #2 is described as a white man, black long sleeved sweater.
Investigation continues.

Location: Zehrs – Fairview Drive
Details: On December 14, 2015 at around 3:30 p.m. Loss Prevention Officer from Zehrs telephoned police to report a shoplifter who had just fled the store. The suspect was last seen running east bound on Fairview Drive. Loss Prevention officer provided a detailed description of the suspect as police headed into the area. BPS found the accused standing near a business on Fairview Drive and West Street. Investigation revealed that the accused had selected over $200.00 worth of razors and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The accused, a 35 year old Brantford man was arrested for theft. The accused was also on probation for Break and Enter X12. The accused was also charged with Breach of Probation and is held in custody for a bail hearing.

Incident: 42647-15
Location: Beer Store – Murray Street
Details: On December 14, 2015 at around 8:00 p.m. an employee from the Beer Store telephoned police to report a female had entered the beer store select a case of beer and exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the beer. The woman was stopped outside of the business and the woman returned with the case of beer into the store. The woman then fled the business on foot prior to police arriving. Also investigation revealed that the same accused attended the Beer Store around 6:00 p.m. selected a case of beer and fled the store without making any attempt to purchase the case of beer. The woman was caught on surveillance video. At approximately 10:00 p.m. the accused was located at a Brantford address and arrested without incident. The accused a 38 year old Brantford woman is also on two orders of Probation and two recognizances of bail orders.
The accused stands charged with the following offences;
Theft under $5,000.00
Breach of Probation X2
*Breach of Recognizance X2
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing
