Theft from business – three arrested
On December 17th, 2015, Guelph Police were in the area of a Woodlawn Road business when a report was received that three people who had allegedly committed a theft were leaving in a vehicle. An officer was able to complete a traffic stop of the vehicle and through investigation, one female and two males were arrested.
A 19 year old Guelph female was charged with theft under $5000, Fail to Comply (YCJA), and two counts of Breach of Probation. She will appear in court on January 5th, 2016.
A 30 year old Guelph male was charged with Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
A 24 year old Guelph male was charged with two counts of Possession of Prohibited Weapon. He will appear in court on January 5th, 2016.
Theft from business – male arrested
On December 17th, 2015, a Loss Prevention Officer at a Paisley Road business observed a male exit the business without paying for an item. The same male returned to the store a short time later and again exited without paying. Guelph police attended and through investigation were able to identify the male.
A 28 year old Guelph male was charged with three counts of Theft Under and three counts of Breach of Probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Pedestrian Struck
On Thursday December 17th, 2015 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a blue four door Volkswagen turning left from Fife Road onto Elmira Road struck a pedestrian crossing Elmira Road.
The pedestrian, a 53 year old Guelph male, was transported to Guelph General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 68 year old Acton female, was charged with Fail to Yield to Pedestrian- Highway Traffic Act 140(1)(a).
