On Wednesday, January 6th, 2016, a motor vehicle collision occurred on Line 86 at Halm Road in Woolwich Township. A 7 year old Woolwich Township boy was attempting to ride his bike across Line 86 onto Halm Road when he was struck by a 2016 Ford cube van driven by a 40 year old Guelph man. The 7 year old boy was air lifted to McMaster Hospital in Hamilton with life threatening injuries. Line 86 was shutdown for over 7 hours while police investigated.
