Location: West Street
Details: On Saturday January 9, 2016 at 7:44 p.m. an officer with the Brantford Police Service was conducting radar enforcement on West Street just south of the Highway 403 overpass. The officer while conducting the radar enforcement could hear the noise of an engine quickly accelerating towards the officer’s location. A Chevrolet Silverado was locked in on radar at 111 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. The officer performed a traffic stop with the driver. The driver a 28 year old Brantford man was issued a Part 111 summons under the Highway Traffic Act for Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt- Speeding by 50 or more km/hr and Fail to Surrender Insurance card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused driver’s licence was suspended for an automatic 7 days and his motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
