Collision Closes Hwy 6

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are investigating a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 6, south of Grey Rd. 6 in the Township of Southgate.

Hwy. 6 is closed between Grey Rd. 6 and the Sligo Rd. in Mount Forest, as well as Grey Rd. 109 from Grey Rd. 6 to Southgate Rd. 6 until further notice.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. this morning, Grey County OPP, the Mount Forest Fire Department and Grey County EMS responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy. 6 and Grey Rd. 109.

Preliminary investigation has determined that a Dodge Caravan was travelling west bound on Grey Rd. 109 when it entered the intersection at Hwy. 6 and collided with a Toyota Corolla which was travelling southbound on Hwy. 6.

The lone 29-year old female driver of the Toyota was not injured.

The lone 88-year old female driver of the Dodge Caravan did not appear to be injured but was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Police continue to investigate.
