The Owen Sound Police investigated two motor vehicle collisions on this date.
The first collision occurred just before 9am when a male operating a 2012 Toyota pulled out from a private drive in the 500 block of 9th Avenue East Owen Sound. The driver made a wide right turn and entered the opposing lane striking a south bound Taxi. There were no injuries as a result of the collision and the damage to both vehicles was minor. The driver of the Toyota was charged with failing to share the roadway.
The second collision occurred just after 12:00 noon at the intersection of 16th Street East and 9th Avenue East Owen Sound. A south bound 2014 Nissan being driven by a novice driver turned left across the path of a north bound 2004 Honda. The collision was severe enough to have the air bag deploy in the Nissan. The driver of the Honda was treated at the hospital for minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver of the Nissan was charged with; left turn, fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision.
