Owen Sound Police Service, Fire and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of 8th Street and 3rd Avenue East just prior to 7 pm this evening (27Feb2016) in relation to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
A white 1998 Dodge truck being driven by a 20 year old Chatsworth area man had been travelling northbound on 3rd Avenue East at 8th Street East. As the truck proceeded with a left turn onto 8th Street East it struck a 19 year old female walking southbound through the crosswalk.
The female pedestrian was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The male driver of the pickup truck has been charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act with fail to yield to pedestrian.
