On March 1, 2016 at 11:19 a.m., the Guelph Police were on Cole Road and the police cruiser was parked on the road while the officer was attending to his call. A blue Ford Ranger pickup truck then drove across a front yard, through a fence and struck the parked cruiser. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.
Michael Hagarty, 31 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on March 15, 2016.
