(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Friday March 04, 2016, shortly before 4 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting speed enforcement on Perth Line 86 east of Listowel, when a fast moving motor vehicle was observed.
A Dodge Ram pickup truck was observed travelling west bound on Perth Line 86 at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle in at a speed of 131 km/h. This is 51 km/h above the posted 80 km/h zone. The pickup truck was pulled over by the officer east of Road 136.
The male driver of the pickup truck, 53-year-old Todd DAFOE of the Municipality of North Perth was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”. He is to appear in Stratford Court on March 22, 2016 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a week.
