Excavator Stolen In Perth East

(SHAKESPEARE, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment are investigating the theft of an Excavator that occurred near Shakespeare during the overnight hours of October 14, 2019 in the Municipality of Perth East.

The excavator, a John Deere 135 rubber track excavator was stolen from a rural construction site is valued at $200,000 Cdn.

On October 16, 2019, members of the OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant on a rural residence near Hamilton. The CSCU were assisted by the Hamilton Police Service Break and Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Branch.

The excavator was recovered during the execution of the search warrant and was returned to the owner.
