(HURON EAST, ON) – A male driver from Port Elgin has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place on March 19, 2016. At 1:12 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling eastbound on Brandon Road east of Brussels at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed his visual observations of the approaching vehicle with a RADAR device and confirmed the speed of the racing truck at a high of 132 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.
Ray MCLEAN, 42 years of age, from Port Elgin has been charged with “Race a Motor Vehicle”. He has a court appearance scheduled for May 10, 2016 at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich. His licence was suspended for seven days and his motor vehicle was impounded for a week.
