(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – Highway 6 from Chatsworth Sideroad 5/Walker Sideroad, south to Chatsworth Road 24, Williamsford, in the Township of Chatsworth is closed due to flooding. Several homes have been evacuated.
Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Chatsworth Fire Department, the Chatsworth Township Roads Department, and other emergency crews are at the scene. Hydro has been shut off in the area as a safety precaution.
The Williamsford Community Centre has been opened as an evacuation centre for those affected by the flood.
OPP officers and Fire Department personnel are currently in the McCullough Lake area West of Williamsford conducting a door to door canvass as this area is also affected by the flooding.
There are no safety issues at this time.
