On April 1, 2016 at 1:15 p.m., the Guelph Police investigated a collision on Gordon Street and Wellington Street. It is alleged that a 2004 Pontiac minivan travelling east on Wellington Street struck a 2010 silver Hyundai travelling north on Gordon. The minivan then struck a 2009 silver Subaru also on Gordon.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 19-year-old Burlington male, was transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries. Early damage estimates to the three vehicles are $20,000. The driver of the minivan, an 82-year-old Guelph male was subsequently charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
