Guelph Police Daily News Release – 08April2016

On April 7, 2016, the Guelph Police received three reports of stolen vehicles. A Black Volkswagon Jetta was stolen from Cox Court, a red Ford Escape was stolen from Thornhill Drive and a dump trailer was stolen from the Victoria Road area.

Theft from cars

On April 7, 2016 the Guelph Police received three reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were two on Lambert Crescent and one on Cox Court.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Break and enter – arrest

The investigation into a break and enter that occurred at a Speedvale Avenue West apartment building has resulted in an arrest. It is alleged that on April 2, the male broke the lock on the laundry room door to gain entry, causing approximately $100 in damage. On April 7, the responsible male was arrested.

A 36-year-old Guelph male has been charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 8, 2016.

In the area of Gordon Street and Kortright Road from 10:15 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. 0 tickets issued

In the area of Paisley Road and Hewitt Lane from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 12 tickets issued
