On May 3rd, 2016, the TD Canada Trust in New Hamburg was robbed. On May 17th, 2016, Thunder Bay OPP stopped a vehicle reported stolen from Perth County and was believed to be involved in that robbery. As a result of the investigation, it is alleged that 50 year old Robert Allan was responsible for the robbery. A Province Wide Arrest Warrant had been issued for Mr. Allan in relation to the bank robbery and Mr. Allan will be returned to Waterloo Region at the conclusion of the court proceedings in Thunder Bay. He faces charges of robbery and several thefts.

On May 3, 2016 at 4:50 p.m. a lone male entered the TD Canada Trust located at 114 Huron Street, New Hamburg. Once inside this male passed a note to the teller demanding money and claimed to be in possession of a weapon. The teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of money. The male then fled on foot. No one was injured as a result of the incident. The male is described as, white, 40 years of age, 55
