Drunk Driver Arrested In McDonald’s Drive Thru

Incident: On Saturday, June 4, 2016 at approximately 2:50 a.m., Community Patrol Officers were contacted to attend the McDonald’s restaurant on Stanley Street in regards to a vehicle in the drive-thru whose driver appeared to be intoxicated. Police attended and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle in the drive-thru. While speaking with the driver, he displayed signs of intoxication and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. The accused was taken to the Brantford Police Service where he provided samples of his breath as required by law. The results were 200 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and 180 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The accused, a 53 year-old Brantford man was charged with Over 80 mg and was released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day seizure.
