(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and members from the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are currently on scene investigating an off-road vehicle crash that has claimed the life of a Huron County resident.
At approximately 11:42 p.m. Huron County OPP, Goderich Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services members responded to the crash scene located just off of Huron Road (Highway 8) west of Kitchigami Road.
Police have determined a John Deere Gator Utility-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) was travelling eastbound off the roadway in a grassy area when the machine dropped into a deep ditch and overturned.
The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was uninjured.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for later today.
The identity of the deceased will be released pending next-of-kin notification.
Huron Road remains open for travel.
