Thefts From Vehicles In Chatsworth

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On July 22, 2016 Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft from vehicle report after someone had entered two vehicles parked on Concession 1 in the Township of Chatsworth overnight and removed a $300 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and two Garmin GPSs. Both vehicles were unlocked which serves as a reminder to “lock it …. or lose it”!

The goal of this proactive crime prevention program is to encourage vehicle owners to take a few simple precautions to prevent thefts from vehicles. Here are some helpful tips and reminders:

Always roll up your vehicle’s windows and lock the doors.

Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.

If you have a garage, use it and lock the door as well as your vehicle.

Never leave your car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area.

Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area.

Never leave valuable objects or packages in full view. Put them in the trunk. Better yet, take them inside the residence.
