On Sunday 11 September 2016 in the morning hours police were advised to attend an address on Allan Park Road regarding gun fire at a residence in former Township of Bentinck within the Municipality of West Grey. The investigation determined that the accused was firing a number of different high powered rifles after using an axe to gain access to the locked gun cabinet within the family residence. Nobody suffered any injuries. The West Grey Police safety brought the accused into custody with the assistance of Hanover Police, OPP canine, OPP (ERT), OPP (TRU), OPP negotiators. The accused was charged with numerous offences, Mischief Under $ 5,000, Pointing a Firearm, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
