38 Year Old Caught Going 137 in an 80 Near Listowel – Name Released

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Sunday September 18, 2016, just before 8 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a fast moving southbound motor vehicle on Hwy 23 just north of Line 78 (north of Atwood). The speed of the vehicle was measured with a RADAR device at 137 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

38-year-old Kelly DA SILVA FURTADO of Brampton was served a summons for the charge of “Racing”. She will have to attend Stratford Court on November 22, 2016, to answer to this charge. Her driving privileges were taken away for seven days and her Buick Enclave was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a week.

The driver continued her travels by taking a taxi from the scene.

The Perth County OPP reminds motorists that behaviors such as speed, aggressiveness, intoxicating substances, distractions, unsafe vehicles and fatigue do not mix with driving.
