Cyclist Airflited To Hospital After Being Struck By Pickup Truck

On September 27, 2016, just before 10:00 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of George Street South and Salisbury Avenue in Cambridge. The collision occurred when a 49-year-old cyclist, who was traveling along Salisbury Avenue, entered the intersection of George Street South and into the path of a pickup truck, which was being driven by a 22-year-old Ayr woman. The cyclist was taken to Cambridge Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and later airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital. The intersection was closed for several hours while members of the Traffic Services branch investigated.
