On Monday October 10th, 2016, at approximately 3:00pm, police were dispatched to the intersection of Book Road West and Trinity Road South, in the City of Hamilton, for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles.
A Dodge Journey driven by an 89 year old Hamilton man and a Honda Civic driven by a 76 year old Hamilton woman was involved in the collision.
Each vehicle had two occupants and all were sent to local hospitals with varying levels of injuries.
However, an 87 year old Hamilton man died as a result of his sustained injuries.
Initial investigation revealed speed and alcohol are not factors in this collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The name of the deceased is not being released at the request of the family.
This collision is the 11th fatality for 2016 and the 2nd involved passenger death for the year.
