Stolen Pickup From Seaforth – 18 Year Old Charged – Name Released

(HURON EAST & CENTRAL HURON, ON) – An 18-year-old from Palmerston has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property following her arrest that took place last Wednesday. At approximately 7:15 a.m. on November 16, 2016 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received notification that a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup truck had just been stolen from a parking lot in Seaforth. Police learned the driver left his unattended truck running in the parking lot while he entered into a restaurant located on Goderich Street East. Unbeknownst to the thief, the pickup truck was equipped with a GPS tracking system.

Officers quickly assembled and began to patrol for the mobile truck. Approximately a half-hour later officers first observed the stolen truck travelling westbound on Kinburn Line. Officers strategically got into position and were preparing to stop the vehicle when they received an update indicating the truck was now stationary at the intersection of Burns Line and Summerhill Road. An OPP officer was able to locate the now abandoned vehicle parked off the roadway in a plowed field. Additional officers began patrolling the immediate area and a female pedestrian was located in close proximity to the stolen truck.

Through the assistance of a police canine track and other investigative efforts officers were able to connect the female to the stolen truck. As a result she was placed under arrest for Possession of Stolen Property. Following her arrest the female suspect provided a false name to the investigating officers. Officers were able to unravel her lies and were able to positively identify her.

As a result, 18-year-old Marissa RADSTAKE, from Palmerston has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Obstruct Police and Fail to Comply with Sentence. She has since been released with custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 5, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
