(Wingham, North Huron, ON) At 2:01am EST, Ontario Premier Doug Ford signed an order declaring a state of emergency in Huron County, centered around Wingham Town council. This is in response to an “exponential cascading failure of Charter Rights which started as disrespect for the Fallen at the Wingham Cenotaph ” according to the Premier’s office.
At 4:55am EST, less than 3 hours later, the RCMP seized control of the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton, ON and arrested the Detachment Commander, 5 senior officers and 21 other uniformed officers. All officers are suspended with pay until the situation is resolved.” said a spokesman for RCMP. The RCMP will assume all policing duties in Huron County, residents should see no change in service other than the logos on the vehicles.
North Huron councillors were arrested as warrants were simultaneously executed at each of their homes at 5:00AM. “It’s clear the center of this corruption is Wingham Town Hall.
It has escalated to a councillor allegedly sexually assaulting a Citizen with zero consequences, and the victim being arrested and ribs broken by the OPP to teach him a lesson. Cameras have been forcibly removed from citizens, arrests for suspicion of video recording a council meeting and illegal trespass bans are just the tip of the iceberg.
Updates will be available as the things continue to unfold today 01April2026 🙂
