SIU Invokes Mandate

(HURON TWP, ON) – On December 13, 2017 at 12:16 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a request to check on a male party residing at an address in Huron Township.

Officers attended the address where they were encountered a combative man who was taken into custody. The male later reported some pain and was taken to a local hospital for medical assessment. A responding officer was also treated for minor injuries.

The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
