(MUNICIPALITY OF LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a mischief occurrence that took place this past weekend at an Ipperwash Beach parking lot.
Sometime between 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 someone defaced a sign at Ipperwash Beach Parking Lot # 2 on East Parkway Drive. The sign which reads “River Aux Sable Territorial Lands, More to Come…” had been defaced with offensive graffiti written in black permanent marker.
Anyone with information that may assist with this investigation is asked to call the Lambton County OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Graffiti is any writing, symbol or drawing that is applied to any surface without the property owner’s consent. When a person applies graffiti, they are committing a criminal code offence called Mischief. Mischief can carry a jail sentence upon conviction.
