(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On January 27th, 2018 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports that someone was ice fishing on Guelph Lake illegally. OPP attended and found a man ice-fishing despite Grand River Conservation Authorities (GRCA) having prohibited ice fishing on the lake.

A 41-year-old Guelph man has been charged with Trespassing contrary to the Trespass to Property Act and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.

Wellington County OPP would like to remind everyone to pay attention to closures and warnings. The GRCA website allows users to identify where activities are allowed and calling any park direct will get you the immediate status. Not following these cautions can leave you on thin ice”.”
