Highway 11 Suspect Apprehension Pursuit

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On Tuesday April 7, 2015, at 1:38 A.M. Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Barrie Detachment were involved in a Suspect Apprehension Pursuit (SAP) that began when a driver travelling southbound on highway 11 failed to stop.

Officers observed the vehicle a Dodge pickup truck southbound on highway 11 near Line 11 in Oro-Medonte Twp, the vehicle was travelling well below the posted speed limit.

Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver made no attempt to stop. The driver exited highway 11 and continued west onto the 15/16 side road in Oro-Medonte twp. The driver continued to ignore officer’s attempts to stop. The vehicle then re-entered highway 11 southbound from Line 2 in Oro-Medonte. Officers terminated the (SAP) at highway 11 southbound and the County Road 93 overpass due to dangerous speeds.
