Type: Robbery (Commercial)

Date: May 11, 2015

Incident: 15-14294

Location: 50 Market Street South

Incident: On Monday May 11, 2015 at approximately 2:40 p.m. an employee at a business on Market Street South called 9-1-1 to report a male in the store stealing. A 26 year old Brantford man had attended inside the store with a clear plastic garbage bag, walked through the store and headed directly to a private employee lunchroom area. The accused grabbed employee’s personal items such as purses and backpacks. One female employee approached the man and he began to yell at the employee, produced a buck style knife in his hand and made a jabbing motion in front of the employee. The female employee retreated back into the store area and notified other employees of the situation. A customer who overheard this attended in the back area where the accused was. The accused took a step towards the male customer and swung the knife at him. The customer was able to jump back avoiding being struck by the knife. The accused fled the business through a back door with the stolen property. Community Patrol Officers attended and located the man in the area of Erie Avenue and Market Street South. The accused was arrested and the stolen property recovered and the knife seized.

Jeremy Stephen ROBINSON, 26 yrs of Ontario Street, Brantford is charged with the following offences;

Robbery

Assault with a Weapon X2

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing

Type: Break and Enter (residential)

Date: May 12, 2015

Incident: 15-14449

Location: Second Avenue

Incident: On May 12, 2015 sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. a residence was entered. A basement window was broken in order to enter the home. A laptop was reported stolen.

Type: Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle

Date: May 12, 2015

Incident: 15-14069

Location: Erie Avenue (300 block)

Incident: Sometime overnight an attempt was made to steal a pickup truck parked on a lot on Erie Avenue. The ignition and steering column had been damaged.
