Brantford Crime Briefs – October 15, 2015

Type: Break and Enter (Commercial)

Date: October 14, 2015

Location: Conklin Road and Gillespie Drive

Incident: Sometime between October 13 at 3:15 p.m. and October 14, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. unknown persons attended in the area of Conklin Road and Gillespie Drive and broke into a locked construction trailer. Reported stolen from the trailer was a Honda power washer red and black in colour and two quick cut saws both which contained a diamond blade. Video surveillance is being reviewed, investigation continuing.

Type: Theft from Property

Date: October 14, 2015

Location: Darling Street (200 block)

Incident: On October 14, 2015 sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon two locked bicycles and a child’s seated bike trailer were stolen from a porch on Darling Street. The child’s metal trailer is green and black in colour. The bikes were a Mongoose 21 speed with orange and grey rims and an 18 speed blue CCM. Both bikes were chained at the time of the theft.

Date: October 14, 2015

Location: 300 King George Road

Incident: A locked storage container located behind a business on King George Road was broken into sometime overnight. Three snow blowers were stolen from the containers. Two of the snow blowers were recovered a short distance away in a field, one remains outstanding.

Type: Disturbance

Date: October 14, 2015

Incident: On October 14, 2015 shortly before 4:30 p.m. a 911 emergency call was received from a woman reporting that her 27 year old son was out of control and threatening her. The male who fled the home prior to police arriving was located several blocks away and was arrested without incident. A 27 year old Brantford man was charged with Uttering Threats and Breaching his Recognizance. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Date: October 14, 2015

Location: Eagle Avenue and Greenwich Street

Incident: On October 14, 2015 shortly before 3:30 p.m. a cyclist and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The area was blocked off for approximately four hours while the BPS Traffic Technical Collision team conducted their investigation. A 49 year old Brantford man who was riding a bicycle received serious head injuries and was transported to a Hamilton hospital. The bicyclist is reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the Hyundai vehicle involved in the collision, a 33 year old woman was uninjured.

The Traffic Unit continues with their investigation. Anyone with information is requested to contact Constable Michael Aasla of the Traffic Unit at 519-756-7050 Ext 2212.
