Type: Disturbance

Date: May 24, 2015

Incident: 15-15925

Location: Dalhousie Street (100 block)

Incident: On May 24, 2015 shortly after 2:00 a.m. a disturbance took place inside a licensed premise on Dalhousie Street. An intoxicated man began arguing with patrons and was confronted by an employee of the establishment and told to leave the premise. The accused punched the employee in the face multiple times. The victim in his defense struck the accused in the face stopping the assault. The victim gained control and physically removed the accused from the establishment and locked the doors so the accused would not return inside. The accused than kicked in a glass panel located inside the front locked door. Community Patrol Officers attended and arrested the accused a short distance away. The accused further provided a false identification to the police. The accused was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000.00, Obstruct Police and Assault. The accused, a 30 year old Brantford man was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Domestic Assault

Incident: 15-16036

Incident: On May 24, 2015 shortly before 8:30 p.m. a 9-1-1 telephone call was received regarding a domestic dispute. The accused had attended the home of his X-common law to retrieve personal belongings which had been left at the victim’s home. The accused had been charged previous with domestic assault on May 2, 2015. The accused was released at that time from custody on a recognizance to stay away from the victim’s home, only to attend once with the presence of police to retrieve personal items. On Sunday May 24, 2015 the accused did not contact police and have them stand by while he retrieved his items. The victim allowed the accused into her home to retrieve his personal belongings and had her cellular telephone on with a friend listening from another residence while the accused was in the victim’s home. The accused became aggressive and assaulted the victim by burning her face with a lit cigarette. The accused grabbed the cellular telephone and disconnected the phone and slapped the victim before leaving the home. Shortly before 9:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers located the accused on foot several blocks away. The accused was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault, and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. The accused a 58 year old Brantford man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
