(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating a single motor vehicle collision at a Haldimand Road 3, Nanticoke, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Saturday, November 21, 2015 at approximately 1:34 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Paramedics attended a Haldimand County Road 3 address for a single motor vehicle collision.
Through investigation, it was determined that a vehicle was travelling westbound on Haldimand Road 3 when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and entered the south ditch striking a tree.
The driver, a 92-year-old female of Norfolk County, Ontario suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local are hospital for treatment. An elderly female passenger suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where she was then air lifted to a Hamilton area hospital for treatment.
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Haldimand Road 3 is currently closed between Haldimand Road 70 and Highway 6. The roadway is expected to be closed for approximately 5 hours to allow for police investigation.
