(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – One individual was taken into custody after a suspicious vehicle was reported.
On September 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Lock Street, Dunnville.
The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old William SOJOURNER from Ohio is facing the following charges:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammo
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts)
- Importing a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing it is Unauthorized
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – in Canada
- Bring into Canada Property Obtained by Crime
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on today’s date.
