(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged two motorists with impaired operation following separate traffic stops.
On Friday March 27th, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop, which subsequently led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of the investigation, William MCCORMICK, 46, of Milton, was charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
On Saturday, March 28th, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop, which subsequently led to an impaired driving investigation.
As a result of that investigation, Maria NIELSEN, a 32-year-old from Collingwood, was charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
Officers encourage motorists to plan ahead when alcohol or drug consumption is anticipated. Choose a designated driver, taxi, rideshare, public transit, or alternative accommodations. Any level of impairment can negatively impact a person’s ability to drive safely.
