(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – A nightshift Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program conducted by the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the seizure of multiple illegal drugs and a handgun. Two individuals have been arrested, and several charges have been laid.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE program in the Municipality of Grey Highlands when the first vehicle that entered the RIDE check was further investigated.
Arian ZAMAN 25-years-old of Toronto, is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Adult Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Adult Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Adult Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was firearm
- Adult Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
- Adult Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Rune Nahj MATHURIN 31-year-old of Toronto, is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
- Adult Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Adult Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was firearm
- Adult Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
The accused are schedule for a bail hearing on May 12, 2025, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
