Troy McCartney – Drunk Driving

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – Impaired driver arrested, driver facing three charges.

On April 5, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being conducted on Brock Road South within Puslinch Township.

As a result of the investigation, Troy McCartney, a 31-year-old of Puslinch is charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 15, 2026.
