(SUDBURY, ON) – One person was arrested and charged after police conducted a traffic stop with a prohibited driver.
On Tuesday March 31, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members from the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Police Service were on general patrol, when they were alerted by the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system of a possible suspended driver on Magill Street, Sudbury.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be a prohibited driver and was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Terry LONG, 68 years old, from Whitefish, was charged with:
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – six counts
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
- Driving while under suspension
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 6, 2026, in Sudbury. The vehicle was impounded for 45-days, at the cost of the owner.
