Student Pilot Makes Emergency Landing

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Central Huron Fire Department responded to a report of a possible airplane crash in the Municipality of Central Huron on Thursday October 10th, 2024, just after 5:00 p.m.  

Police located the aircraft in a farm field just north of Bayfield Road near Tipperary Line in Central Huron. The lone 25-year-old student pilot was forced to make an emergency landed in a farm field due to an engine problem. The pilot was not injured, and the plane was not damaged.

The pilot had departed from London and was intending to land in Goderich, then return to London. The aircraft is now being inspected to ensure it is safe to return to London by air.
