SINGH Facing Numerous Charges

(TEMAGAMI, ON) – The Temagami Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid multiple charges after stopping a commercial motor vehicle on Highway 11 in Temagami. 

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., OPP observed a commercial motor vehicle with obvious tire defects travelling along Highway 11. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the officer conducted a thorough inspection and identified multiple serious mechanical and administrative defects with the vehicle.  

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for dangerous operation of a conveyance and charged with Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences. The vehicle was towed and impounded.  

Amanjot SINGH, 26 years-of-age of Edmonton Alberta was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operate unsafe combination of vehicles – commercial motor vehicle
  • Improper tires-drawn vehicle-commercial motor vehicle
  • Insecure load-commercial motor vehicle
  • Fail to enter defect in daily inspection report
  • Operate vehicle – fail to display inspection sticker or proof -three counts
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle without required inspection
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to surrender permit
  • Fail to surrender permit for trailer
  • Draw trailer no plate

The company from Calgary Alberta was charged with:

  • Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance
  • Fail to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly
  • Permit operation of vehicle-fail to display inspection sticker or proof -three counts
  • Insecure load – commercial motor vehicle
  • Improper tires – commercial motor vehicle
  • Fail to ensure performance standards are met
  • Permit operation of unsafe combination of vehicles – commercial motor vehicle 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday September 23, 2025. 

The company is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court in Temiskaming at a later date.
