(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Thornhill resident with impaired driving-related offences following a single motor vehicle collision.
On June 15, 2025, shortly before 2:00 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers received a radio call about a vehicle in a ditch near Airport Road and County Road 17 in the Township of Mulmur.
Officers arrived on scene and, during their interaction with the male driver, observed signs of impairment. They subsequently initiated an impaired driving investigation.
Paulo SIMAO, a 49-year-old male, from Thornhill has been charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and their vehicle impounded.
