Two men face charges after police seized approximately $10,000 worth of cocaine Monday.
Police were called shortly after 2 a.m. to check the wellbeing of two men passed out in a parked vehicle at an address on College Avenue West. When one of the men woke up and opened his door officers detected a strong odour of burned cannabis. Officers began an investigation under the Cannabis Control Act.
A search revealed a brick of cocaine as well as two individually-wrapped baggies with a total estimated value of $10,000. Officers also located two scales, empty baggies and cash inside the vehicle.
A 22-year-old Guelph man and 18-year-old Kitchener man are each charged with possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The Guelph man is also charged with breaching a release order.
The Guelph man was held for a bail hearing October 3. The Kitchener man was released to appear in court November 25.
