Otis NOEL – Impaired Driving

(ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving and multiple Provincial offences following traffic complaints for a suspected impaired driver.

On Monday, January 5, 2025, shortly after 7:00 PM, Nottawasaga OPP officers responded to traffic complaints regarding a black sedan travelling east on County Road 21 veering into oncoming traffic, driving onto the shoulder, and stopping in a live lane of traffic. Officers located the vehicle a short time later.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested the driver for impaired driving. 

The driver, Otis NOEL, a 44-year-old, of Toronto, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Driving while under suspension

• Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

• Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

• Fail to notify change of address – licence               

The accused party was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled for a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford to answer to the charges.

 The Nottawasaga OPP wants to remind the public that although our Festive R.I.D.E season is over the OPP remains committed to keeping Ontario roads safe from impaired drivers. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1 immediately to report it. You can also provide information anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). When you contact Crime Stoppers, you stay anonymous, and you never have to testify.
