Dylan HATTON – Assault With Weapon

(INNISFIL, ON) – Police have laid charges in relation to an August incident in the Town of Innisfil, in which the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) had invoked its mandate.

On August 15, 2024, around 2:40 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) officers responded to an altercation near Shoreview Drive, between Whitecap Drive and Dalkab Crescent. At the SSPS’s request, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating the circumstances leading up to the SSPS’s arrival and the immediate situation at the scene when officers got there.

As a result of the investigation, on December 4, 2024, Dylan HATTON, 19 years old from Innisfil, has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Assault Causing Bodily Harm, as per section 267(b)
• Assault with a Weapon, as per section 267(a)
• Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, as per section 270.01(1) – four counts
• Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, as per section 320.13(1)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in Bradford Provincial Court on January 2, 2025.
