(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges following separate impaired driving investigations.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at approximately 7:34 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on Old Highway 24 in Waterford.
Officers located the vehicle and, after speaking with the driver, took the individual into custody without incident.
As a result, 46-year-old Omadath GAJADHAR of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 1:29 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 report of a suspected impaired driver on Queensway East in Simcoe.
Police located the vehicle and, following an interaction with the driver, the individual was taken into custody without incident. During a subsequent search, officers seized a quantity of suspected illicit drugs.
As a result, 42-year-old Christopher THOMPSON of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs,
- Fail to comply with Probation Order.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
