Nicholas DEAN Was Arrested

(TWEED, ON) – Officers from the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On Friday April 3, 2026, at 6:35 p.m., police received a report from a concerned citizen of an erratic driver travelling southbound on Highway 62 north of Madoc. 

A short time later, police located the vehicle on Highway 7 travelling eastbound in the Municipality of Tweed. 

As a result of the investigation, Nicholas DEAN, age 27, of Stirling, was arrested and charged with:

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

• Careless driving

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 14, 2026. Additionally, their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.
