(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – On March 23, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a vehicle travelling on Highway 72, tossing alcohol cans out of the window.
Officers located the vehicle, and a traffic stop was initiated. A lawful demand was made for the driver to submit a sample of breath into an approved screening device. The driver chose to refuse and was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment.
As a result, Nicholas BEANISH, 33-years-old, of Vermilion Bay, has been arrested and charged with:
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on April 21, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) was issued, and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
