Peel Regional Police – Peel Regional Police’s Vice and Human Trafficking Unit, with support from Longueuil Police, have located a missing Quebec youth believed to be trafficked for sexual exploitation in Peel.
On Sept. 9, 2025, Peel Police were alerted by Longueuil authorities regarding the missing girl. Investigators identified a rental property in Brampton as a potential location. On Sept. 10, an adult male was arrested outside the residence, and the youth was later found safe at a second location. She has since been reunited with her family.
The accused, Nahom Teklahaymanot, a 24-year-old of St. Laurent, Quebec, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Advertising Sexual Services
- Household Permit Sexual Services to Person between the age of 16-18 years
- Procuring a person under 18 years old
- Communicate For Sexual Service
- Trafficking Persons Under 18 years old
- Exercise Control
- Receiving Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons
- Receive Material Benefits from Sexual Services
- Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing an Offence
Teklahaymanot was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police remain committed to protecting vulnerable individuals and combating human trafficking in all forms, and investigators believe there may be additional victims in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Longueuil.
