(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving as a result of investigating a collision.
On Tuesday December 2, 2025, at approximately 5:15pm, Peterborough County OPP officers received a call for service regarding a head-on collision on Lakefield Road in Selwyn Township. Witnesses advised one vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane where the two vehicles collided. Officers spoke to the driver of the northbound vehicle and determined them to be impaired.
Michael ROSE (age 65) of Douro-Dummer Township was arrested and charged with;
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 6, 2026 in Peterborough.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
