Meth Bust – Ashton THOMPSON

(Geraldton, ON) – A local resident is facing impaired driving charges following a complaint of a motor vehicle stuck in the snowbank.

On March 1^st, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle in the snowbank along Highway 11, near Tractor Tire Road.

Through investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired by drug and was subsequently placed under arrest. The driver was then transported back to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

A result, Ashton THOMPSON, 24-years-old, of Beardmore, ON, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with,

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

–      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on April 17, 2025.
